Social Media Policy

Social media tools and websites, like Facebook, Twitter, and this ning site, are increasingly used for communication in the Diocese of Minnesota. The intent of this Social Networking Policy statement is to communicate clearly the Diocese of Minnesota’s policy in using these online resources.

Official vs. unofficial forms
All ‘official’ diocesan social media resources, like this ning site, are created specifically by the Communications Office of the Diocese of Minnesota. While other online networks may be established, they do not represent the Diocese of Minnesota and are not permitted to represent the diocese or use official diocesan identities, logos, photos, or other graphics associated with the Diocese of Minnesota.

Posting content and discussions
The Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota reserves the right to remove all harmful, derogatory, obscene, or inappropriate content and/or remove the user as a member. The Diocese of Minnesota also prohibits the posting of photos of minors on this site without specific permission from the child's legal guardians.
